Design/Construction Process

Initial Contact – Though you are welcome to stop by our showroom at any time during our normal business hours it is always recommended to set an appointment so we can give you our undivided attention and spend adequate time with you uninterrupted. Most time the initial appointment would take place at your home/site. We encourage you to contact our office to coordinate a time to do so.

Initial Consultation – Typically this would take place at your home/site and this would be the time to discuss your ideas and to outline your goals as they pertain to your project. If you have another design proffesionals plans we can proceed to the estimating phase of the process. If we will be working with you on your design we will at this time take all the necessary field dimensions, photographs and gather information we will need to begin to develop the design for your project.

Preliminary Design – We now begin the design phase of the process. The quantity of drawings and information prepared at this time varies based on the scope and size of the project at hand. Typically it would include a floorplan and possibly some more advanced drawings. Though we do not have a fee for design the drawings remain our property until we get to the final design phase of the process.

Design Review Meeting – When the preliminary design is complete we will contact you to arrange another meeting at our office/showroom to review the design, discuss styles, materials, finishes and products we will utilize to finalize the aesthetic elements of your project. This information will be used to complete  an accurate and detailed estimate.

Cost Estimates – At the conclusion of the Design Review Meeting we will then begin to develop the cost estimates for your project. The length of time needed to complete these estimates can vary depending on the type of project and how much information needs to be gathered such as special order materials pricing and various subtrades. This can take an average of 2 – 3 weeks.

Bid Meeting – Once the cost estimates are complete for your project we will contact you to set up a meeting to review these with you. This meeting typically takes place at our office/showroom but may take place at the home/site depending on the type of project it is. We will present our proposal of cost which is most often accompanied with a set of specifications outlining the work and the items included and more importantly the items not included in the price. This is helpful and helps avoid confusion later in the process.

Construction Agreements – Once we decide to move forward with the project we will put togrther the construction agreements, specifications and drawings for your project. Once these are complete we will arrange a meeting to review and sign these documents.

Preconstruction Site Meeting – Prior to the actual commencement of work we will arrange a site visit at which we will review the scope of work, property protection, location of containers and materials storage, as well as discussing life during remodeling and any additional considerations we need to be aware of while working in your home. We will at this time answer any questions you may have.

Construction – Now the project begins as layed out in all the planning and preconstruction phases of the process. Once the project is underway we will remain comitted to it through completion. We will respect your property maintaining a clean and safe environment while minimizing as much disruption and inconvenience as possible.

Completion and Warranties – Once the project is complete we will execute our warranty period which includes the manufacturers warranties of all the products utilized on your project as well as a (3) year Warranty on workmanship of the products we install.
